Atkins Diet - is a low carbohydrate, high protein diet. Initial weeks result in immediate weight loss as the person does not take any carbohydrates and burns the stored fats of the body.
Advantages of Atkins Diet: Immediate weight loss and not as time consuming. It is also not as expensive compared to other types of diet.
Disadvantages of Atkins Diet: Experience of dizziness, nausea, headache and fainting during the initial stage. This happens because the body undergoes adjustments to the low or no card intake diet. This diet also allows the intake of cheese, butter and cream. Although considered as low carb, these food types have unsaturated fat which is not healthy when intake is high. The restrictive nature of the diet also cuts down some nutrients that our body needs.
