  • Soak your feet for about ten minutes.
  • Pat feet dry.
  • Clip toenails straight across. Or if you would rather use an emery board, do so but wait under toenails are completely dry.
  • Using a pumice stone, remove any rough areas.
  • Massage cuticle area with little oil or moisturizer.
  • Gently push back cuticles.
  • Apply foot lotion and massage into each foot.
  • Remove excess lotion. If you wish to apply polish, put a small amount of polish on your brush; paint one stroke down the center of your nail. Your brush should hold just enough color to accomplish this. Stroke the sides of the nail too, and you are done.
  • Wait until polish is set or dry to the touch and then apply the top coat. Don't skip this step as it not only adds life to your pedicure, it will also protect your nails.

Feeling fuller longer and eating less tips

Friday, December 25, 2009

Do you want not to feel hungry so soon after eating? One of the best things you can do for your digestion and for your weight is to slow down the speed at which your digestive system works.

  • Eat often. By not allowing yourself to get hungry, you help turn off appetite inducing hormones. So much small amounts of healthy appetizers in between meals.
  • Have a healthy-fat appetizer. When you eat a little healthy fat before meal, you slow down the rate at which your stomach empties. Examples include olive oil, nuts, avocado, and fish. Eating them will make you feel fuller faster from the meal. Eating them will also keep your blood sugar levels spiking up after meal and makes it easier for your body to absorb fat-soluble nutrients.
  • Feast on fiber. Fiber takes a long time to digest, which means your stomach empties more slowly and the time until your next meal won't seem so far away.
